Why It Exists
For 17 years, OurCalling has walked alongside thousands experiencing homelessness. We have also mourned far too many neighbors who have been lost to the streets. Inspired by their stories, we realized the next chapter of our mission: OurCommunity.
This 280-acre development south of Dallas is designed specifically for our most vulnerable neighbors. It serves those who are elderly, disabled, or living with conditions that require lifelong care. Our goal is to build 500 permanent homes where residents receive long-term, relational support.
We welcome neighbors into a supportive, all-inclusive environment. OurCommunity is a final earthly refuge. It is a place where residents a true sense of home amongst community.
From Vision to Reality
Home, At Last
The first neighborhood is complete. Residents and missionals have moved in, and they are living not just as neighbors but as a true community. A quiet sense of peace settles here. It is the kind of peace that comes from finally having a place to call your own and a support system that cares deeply about your journey.
It is here, amidst the shared meals and spontaneous conversations, where people are finally able to breathe, belong, and begin again. This first neighborhood is a living testament to what happens when we are in community. The best part? This is only the beginning.
