Carmen
For years, Carmen was a familiar face at OurCalling. She would come in, navigating homelessness alongside battling dementia. All the while, her family in Chicago was desperately searching for her.
When a partner saw their missing person flyer on Facebook, everything shifted. We were able to connect the dots… and then connect Carmen back to her family.
Her loved ones flew from Chicago to OurCalling to bring her home.
Now Carmen is headed home—where she belongs.

Marcos
Marcos is a court appointed volunteer at OurCalling. When volunteering, one of our Care Ministers realized he needed more than community service hours. Marcos gave our Care Minister, Deacon, the general story of what he was going through, and was overwhelmed with shame and guilt. Deacon spoke with him about what God brought him through and what the Bible says about hope and salvation. Some time later, he returned with something on his heart. He shared how much that conversation had impacted him and expressed a deep desire for change. He said he wanted to turn his life around, to come back to faith, and even asked about being baptized. There was a sincere commitment to help him take the next steps
It was a powerful reminder of how small acts of faith, courage, and love can ripple outward. Others who had consistently shared their beliefs with sincerity and compassion played a meaningful role in what unfolded, helping set the stage for a moment of real transformation.
