The most powerful feature of this app.

You can search from over 200 local service providers to help the poor in Dallas County. When you open the app , you will see a screen titled “Explore Dallas”. From here you can choose one of 8 categories, or search by location (distance in miles). If you do not select any category, you will see all of the results on one map. On the results map, you will see your current location in blue with all of the service providers marked around you with number that indicate how man of the eight services they provide. Select any service provider to get driving direction, and any other specific details. This information is gather through collaboration with other organizations and from their respective websites.

Map View

After you search for resources, you will be presented with a map view. This let’s you see all of the resources near your present location. You can click on any resources and get driving directions and more information.

List View

You can also swipe up on the “Explore Dallas” tab to see a list view. This will show the resources listed by distance from your current location. Clicking on the resource name will load their location and give you specific details.

Resource Details

The resource detail page will provide you with basic information about this resource. You will find a link to their website (for more detailed information), phone number and physical address (when available). Some resources, like Domestic Violence centers do not give their physical address. If you need help from any specific provider, we suggest you contact them directly.

Missing our Wrong Details

If you find any inaccurate details or know of any resource that is not in our list, please contact us. We are making daily changes to this app and strive to get the data as accurate as possible.

This button will allow you to submit a resource for us to review. This could be a church, a shelter, food pantry….  If you know of an update, new service location, or schedule, please let us know.

OurCalling visits over 1,000 locations to serve the homeless in Dallas. We have “Search & Rescue” teams that crawl in the woods, under bridges, behind stores and find thousands of homeless friends in desperate need of help. If you know of a location that we should visit, please press this button to take a photo. The app allows you to send us comments and contact information if you would like for us to follow up with you. When you submit this, your phone will also send us the GPS coordinates for your current location so that we can visit the same spot. Our Search & Rescue teams will find that place, look for new friends and do what we do best.

The Volunteer Calendar lists most of the opportunities to serve with OurCalling. We have opportunities for individuals of all  stages of life. From retirees, families with children 13 years and older, everyone is welcome at OC. We would love to answer any questions you have about volunteering and find the right opportunity for you to serve.
