Lloyd and Jen

I shot this video on September the 19th. Lloyd and Jen were married on September 20th. For one night they were given a honeymoon at a local hotel. They had their own room with air conditioning, TV, a private bathroom and a huge breakfast. The following night they returned to the shelter. Now they sleep in separate areas,  on separate mats lying on the concrete.

Pray for Lloyd and Jen. Pray for their marriage, jobs and housing.IMG_0695

  1. Did your ministry pay for their honeymoon? If so, that’s great! What a blessing for them. He says the churches need to open their doors and let homeless people come in and worship. I don’t know of a church that won’t allow homeless people in to worship. Maybe there are some, but I’ve been to alot of churches, and none that I’ve been to would turn someone away at the door because they look homeless.

  2. Jan: We did not pay for their honeymoon. We helped in other ways.

Many churches do allow the homeless inside, but hassle them at the door. Often they receive lectures about panhandling, loitering, and bringing bags into a building – before they are allowed into the service. It is often the sneers, comments and looks from the congregation that makes one feel rejected.
